Plastic Omnium is one of the world leaders in automotive components and fuel systems. The Group has 33,000 employees across 124 plants, 23 R&D centres, and factories in 31 countries, serving 74 automotive brands.
The company is one of the world’s leading experts in technologies for designing, prototyping and testing of composite pressure vessels. Applications range from low pressure storage cylinders for LPG to high pressure tanks for CNG and hydrogen. They are a certified producer of thermoset composite pressure vessels for CNG, certified to ISO 9001, ECER110 and ISO 11439.
In the Polaris project, Plastic Omnium will focus on taking the newly developed thermoplastic composite tape technology to design, manufacture and test a CNG tank, and to optimise their production process to meet the expectations of the automotive industry.
