MF Tech has become a global benchmark company in filament winding. The company specialises in manufacturing and prototyping of filament-wound parts, as well as design and
manufacturing of filament winding robots and machines.
MF Tech has previously worked with Plastic Omnium, installing a development robotic winding cell at their Zonhoven facility for research and development purposes. Similar technology has already been validated successfully during the EU-funded research project COPERNIC for manufacturing storage cylinders for compressed gasses (Oxygen, LPG, CNG and Hydrogen).
In the Polaris project, MF Tech will develop a new thermoplastic head to wind with the high speeds necessary for economic production, installed on one of their robotic machines to give the degrees of freedom necessary for efficient winding of thermoplastic composite pressure vessels. Their development will be based on their string background IP in robotic placement and thermoplastic heads for filament winding.
