Coventive Composites is a high-tech SME that develops new composite materials, based on innovative processes, including thermoplastics, thermosets, nano-composites and recycled fibres. The company was formed in 1998 and now has revenues of €2m, based on the technologies that it has developed in-house.
Coventive Composites has developed a pilot line for the manufacturing of thermoplastic tapes and it will use this unique IP in the Polaris project. It will modify and upscale the line to produce high volumes of tailored carbon/polyamide tapes for tape winding high pressure CNG vessels. Within this technology area, Coventive Composites has developed unique IP in the manufacturing of thermoplastic tapes.
It has been working with a number of potential customers on new, high-quality thermoplastic tapes for applications including automotive, construction and oil & gas, alongside pressure vessels. This proposal supports our specific need to refine and upscale the carbon/polyamide tapes to meet those customers’ demands for CNG pressure vessels.
This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement no. 820567.
